Reached here from the plugin's HELP button? Everything you need to sign in, use credits, install on Windows and reach a human is on this page.
Signing in
Create your account on the Hooka landing page first and confirm the magic link in your email. Then open Hooka, click AI CONNECT, enter the same email and press Send code. You will receive a six-digit sign-in code. Paste it into the code field and press Verify. No password is needed.
Not seeing the code? Check the spam folder for an email from Hooka. If it does not arrive within five minutes, request a new one and try a different mailbox.
Credits and pricing
You receive 300 credits, one-time on signup. A full generation costs 10 credits, so the free allowance covers 30 full generations. Credits do not renew automatically.
There are no paid plans yet. Hooka is free right now — nothing to buy and no card needed.
Out of credits
When your balance goes below 10, Generate reports that you are out of credits. Paid plans are not available yet — send honest feedback via the FEEDBACK button in Hooka or by email and we add 20 more generations to your account (once per account). You can still play, drag and export any take that is already on the piano roll — the balance only gates a new generation.
Routing Hooka MIDI to another VST
Generate your take in Hooka, then drag the Lead, Chords or Full MIDI from Hooka onto a MIDI or instrument track in your DAW. Load your favorite VST on that track and use its sound instead of Hooka's built-in preview sound.
Playing Hooka live into another instrument via MIDI out? Set PREVIEW to Off in Hooka. Hooka's own preview sound goes silent while its MIDI keeps playing, so you only hear your instrument and its effects. The setting is saved with your project.
FL Studio-specific
This lets you use Hooka for MIDI generation without having to hear its own preview sound:
- Load Hooka in FL Studio and assign it to a channel. Turn Hooka up a bit.
- In Hooka, set PREVIEW to Off so you only hear the instrument you route to.
- Click the gear icon in the top left of the Hooka plugin.
- Select the second tab and, under MIDI, set the Output Port to
1. - Load the instrument/VST you want to use into another channel.
- Click the gear icon there too, open the second tab, and under MIDI set the Input Port to
1. - Draw a four-bar pattern region in the arrangement so the full four-bar loop plays.
- Press play in Hooka.
Installing on macOS
The macOS installer is currently unsigned, so macOS can't verify it. Download the .pkg from the Download section and:
- Open the
.pkg. When macOS blocks it, click Done. - Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll down. Next to "Hooka.pkg was blocked", click Open Anyway and confirm with your password.
- Finish the installer.
- Restart your DAW so it re-scans its plugins. Hooka appears as a VST3 and, on macOS, as an AU instrument. The Standalone app is in your Applications folder as Hooka.
Installing on Windows
The Windows installer is currently unsigned. Download the .exe, double-click it and:
- If SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info and then Run anyway.
- Continue through the installer.
- Restart your DAW so it re-scans the VST3 folder.
Deleting your account
Open AI CONNECT while signed in and press Delete account. Type DELETE in the confirmation dialog and press Delete account again. Your account, remaining credits and generation history are permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.
If the button ever fails, email hello@gethooka.com from the account's own address and we will delete it manually.
